Charity SewingPillowcases for Children’s Hospital
Help make a real difference in the lives of those who need a big hug, and try out our great new machines. For 2006, we are focusing only on serging Pillowcases for the Oncology Department at Children’s Hospital. The kids get to choose a pillow case for their pillow and when their treatment is over, they get to take it home with them. So let’s roll up our sleeves and keep those kiddies in happy pillow cases. They need 30-40 each week! Please help us! Please call 330-882-9626 to reserve your seat.If you wish to bring your own fabrics, please pre-wash them. You need 3/4 yard for the main part of the case, then a 2” to 3” (you choose from what you have handy) straight strip from selvege to selvege, pressed in half lengthwise for the trim strip, and an 11” strip from selvege to selvege pressed in half with cut edges touching and selvege edges folded for the cuff. Bring your ready to sew pillowcases or feel free to sew some of ours. We always have a box full waiting on someone to do the serging! Bring your friends and come at a convenient time. We’ll set up the machines and show you how. You can bring your own serger if you prefer, even if you need a refresher on using it. Thanks!

Skill Levels – To ensure your success, classes have been identified as follows:
- Level 1 Has a sewing machine and knows how to operate it
- Level 2 Can quickly and accurately rotary cut without assistance. Maintains 1/4" seam allowance without help.
- Level 3 Knows most fast machine piecing techniques, strip piecing, etc.
- Level 4 Intermediate skills.
Use one of our Pfaff sewing machines for your class!
