A Piece In LESS Time
Level 2, Sandy
It’s the best class you will ever take and now it’s better than ever. Over the years, Sandy has developed or taught many techniques to simplify the quiltmaking process, to make the most of your limited sewing time and to become more productive in the process. She will cover techniques by Mary Ellen Hopkins, Jackie Robinson, Kaye England and her other talented friends. You will get to see many dozens of quilts without leaving your classroom seat. It’s easier than going to a quilt show! Each class will cover a different category of patchwork design. We’ll do rail sets; 4-patches and 9-patches; half-square triangles; quarter-square triangles; log cabins; design manipulation and lots, lots more. When we work from the MEH books, you will be able to bring your copies to class to put all the great notes into your books. We know you will enjoy it because the rave reviews from former students attest to it. Bring your machine to the first class only. The rest is lecture/demo. $65

Quilt Sitters' Circle
For Graduates of A Piece In Less Time, the benefits of QSC are awesome! You will meet and make wonderful friends in class, get instruction and hints from Sandy and Eunice, receive a 20% merchandise discount (and an extra 5% on other sale prices), get three hours every month in the classroom where we work on a project inspired by a Mary Ellen book or pattern. You can cut or sew in class as you desire. Bring your appropriate Show and Tell to share! We even host a Summer Picnic! QSC Membership is still just $35 per year, renewable each January. Join anytime! The 20% discount makes it worth the price! Handouts for missed sessions are available for $2/pg. If you don’t want to do the project for the month, you are welcome to come and do your own thing! Attend the monthly Wednesday session of your choice (am or pm):
Monthly meetings are the second Wednesdays, 10 AM-1 PM ; OR 6:30-9:30 PM: Jan 13, Feb 10, Mar 10, Apr 14, May 12, Jun 9, Jul 14, Aug 11, Sep 8, Oct 13, Nov 10 and Dec 8. Picnic and other special days will be announced in class. Please join us!
Skill Levels – To ensure your success, classes have been identified as follows:
- Level 1 Has a sewing machine and knows how to operate it
- Level 2 Can quickly and accurately rotary cut without assistance. Maintains 1/4" seam allowance without help.
- Level 3 Knows most fast machine piecing techniques, strip piecing, etc.
- Level 4 Intermediate skills.
Use one of our Pfaff sewing machines for your class!
