Learn to build fabric houses in this class. These houses are made with bright and fun fabrics that use black and white prints as a place to rest your eyes from all the fun things that are going on in each house. Kansas Troubles

This is not a difficult quilt to make once you know how to use triangle paper. It is a great tool when making half square blocks that are all the same size and color. In this class we will learn to use them to make this wonderful quilt that has a surprise pinwheel show up when you put your blocks together. $25

Old Style Doll Quilt

This quilt is a little nine-patch with an on-point set. The nine-patches are doll sized and the model is made with those old double pinks for an old-fashioned doll. Try it in other color schemes if the doll you know is more trendy. $25

Bubbles
Level 2, Eunice
Bubbles is a great way to use the skills you learned in the Machine Appliqué class. The body of the quilt is just simple squares which can be partially made ahead of the class. Then bubble circles are appliquéd onto them. Eunice used stabilized Indian silks for her circles but other fun fabrics can work, too. You don’t have to make circles. Bunnies or ducks or anything you can think of will be fine. This is an opportunity for you to fine tune those machine appliqué skills with Eunice. $25

Use It Up! Just Squares & Sashing
Level 2, Eunice
This is a great way to enhance just plain squares. Do you have a charm pack that is too special to cut up or perhaps a fabric that you love and you want to feature it in a simple quilt? This is a good way to frame just squares. The quilt has nothing in it but squares and an interesting sashing arrangement. This is a lesson in how to help the background fabric make your ‘choice’ fabrics look great. $10 or Free with a UIU Pass.

Just Squares Doll Quilt

This bright little quilt is made from 9-patches. It is reminiscent of those old postage stamp quilts. It’s doll size, though, so it can be done in a very short time. If you have never made 9-patches, come and learn the few tricks it takes to make them nicely so you can keep that special doll cozy. $25

Strippy Doll Quilt

This is the last of the doll quilt series and this one is made in the traditional strippy manner. It looks great in reproduction fabrics but it has also been made in batik brights that look stunning too. Use It Up! Strings Car Trunk Quilt

This is a lesson on how to use those strings of fabric that are left over from straightening the edges of your fabric or leftover strips from other projects. There are some tricks to make that hodgepodge of strings look good. Eunice will help you to make great blocks that go together so easily that you will be cranking out these quilts for the car trunks of all your family members. Radiant Lone Star

The Lone Star is such a lovely quilt, but it takes careful, exact sewing to make sure all 8 arms will fit together when the time comes. It’s easy to inherit one of these just partially made. Because it was so much work, when it came time to turn the arms into a star, they wouldn’t fit together. The “radiant” part is a reflective ring just before you get to the “spokes” which causes the repeat of colors to be reversed. It’s a beauty and we’ll make a wallhanging out of ours. If you want a bed quilt, we’ll alter the yardage for you. Come in to pick out your fabrics while Sandy is here, so she can be sure you understand the look you are going after. $35

Every now and then a design comes along that you just have to make for yourself. This is a small quilt, but, of course, could be made any size. Now’s the time to experience Sandy’s lecture on Scrap Control! We don’t just cut squares and put them aside, only to find that we have cut the wrong size or have to recut them again. “The Method” covers all the scrap issues a quiltmaker faces and offers solutions to organizing your stash, your sewing room and your quilt making plans. It’s a MUST for all of you who are paralyzed into inactivity when it comes to making scrap quilts or want quilts that are more than just squares. This class will get you in motion again. This is your chance to work on a diagonal set, if you have not done one. A diagonal set is where you stand your blocks on their points. That makes the seams go diagonally through the quilt. There are plenty of secrets to assure your success. We have several beautiful kits assembled for this project. $25

Skill Levels – To ensure your success, classes have been identified as follows:
- Level 1 Has a sewing machine and knows how to operate it
- Level 2 Can quickly and accurately rotary cut without assistance. Maintains 1/4" seam allowance without help.
- Level 3 Knows most fast machine piecing techniques, strip piecing, etc.
- Level 4 Intermediate skills.
