Beginning Hand Appliqué

Don’t be afraid of Hand Appliqué! In this class we cover more than 9 different ways to appliqué by hand. At least one of these methods has your name on it but it is good to learn that each project you tackle can be done with the method that best suits it. It is great to be able to appliqué anything you can think up. $45

Punchneedle
Eunice
Punchneedle is a lot like rug hooking on a miniature scale. It is a Russian traditional method of decorating folk costumes. Eunice will teach you how to do this fun technique. Choose any of our sweet patterns. $25

Hand Appliqué Clinic – Yours or Mine
Eunice
This is one of our Clinic classes for those students who have taken the Beginning Hand Appliqué class and want to work on a specific project. Work on a project of your own or make a Heart Quilt like the one Eunice made to improve your hand appliqué skills. She will help you address any problems you may be having. Prerequisite: Eunice’s Beg. Hand Appliqué class $25

Redwork
Eunice
Have you tried Redwork? Did you buy a fun pattern and never got further than that? Eunice will help. Bring your pattern and begin working on it or just come and learn the stitches so you can choose a pattern you will want and be able to get done. $25

Hand Quilting
Eunice
We’ll cover your best choices for thread, fabric, battings, frames, thimbles, needles and more. Then we will mark, layer and baste together a small quilt. Learn to hide knots, learn a no knot technique plus many different methods for getting those great little hand stitches. $45, incl. kit: top, back, batt and needles.

Skill Levels – To ensure your success, classes have been identified as follows:

  • Level 1  Has a sewing machine and knows how to operate it
  • Level 2  Can quickly and accurately rotary cut without assistance. Maintains 1/4" seam allowance without help.
  • Level 3  Knows most fast machine piecing techniques, strip piecing, etc.
  • Level 4  Intermediate skills.
