Beginning Sewing I

Learn a solid foundation in sewing and garment construction to make clothing for yourself or your children, home decorating projects to accent your lifestyle or even quilting and hobby sewing. In this class, you will learn techniques and make samples for a notebook that you can refer to for years to come. Learn to professionally finish seams, sew a dart, create a blind hem, measure and fit a pattern, use the special stitches on your sewing machine and so many other things. Go home with a decorator pillowcase and either a vest or a pair of pajama bottoms. Choose from our Kwik-Start patterns by Kwik Sew. This class is perfect for teens or adults with little or no sewing experience. $75
   • Thursdays, 1-4 PM: May 8, 15, 22 and 29

Serger Club

Do you own a serger, but it just sits in your closet? Perhaps you’ve forgotten how to use it, or you bought it where they didn’t offer you lifetime lessons. Now, you are afraid to change the threading pattern and all you are capable of doing is the stitch it’s set on. Well, fear no more! Dust off that machine and join us every month for a few hours of learning and fun. Not every machine can do what other machines are capable of, but we’ll find a way for you to still have fun with us. We will offer you a project at each meeting and we encourage your show and tell as well. $25 per session or $150 for the whole year (12 sessions in a row).

We are proud to offer Kwik Sew Patterns! Now including Kwik Serge patterns for serger fun, easy Kwik Start patterns for those learning to sew and No Sew patterns, sewing free projects.

Our Kwik Sew patterns are easy to make and fashion-forward. There are wonderful serger projects for knits, fleece and many other fabrics. While we don’t stock all fabrics, we do carry flannel, minkee, some fleece, beautiful wool, rayons, homespuns and quilter’s cottons of every description. All our fabrics lend themselves to Kwik Sew patterns, and there are lots of patterns perfect for beginners of all ages.

Kwik Sew patterns are multi sized and are printed on heavy paper so you can trace off the size you need and keep the pattern intact for future use.

Come browse through the catalog to find your next project. The catalog is loaded with gift sewing, home dec, and of course, clothing, both simple and more complex -- to meet any skill level. We place orders every other week, or so.
