A Note from Sandy . . .

Spring is certainly springing forth, and we are so thankful for the beautiful days we’re experiencing! And we have sew much to share with you in this edition of the Needle Times Gazette!

First, we have some wonderful classes for you with fun new projects to inspire and encourage you. Our Summer mission is “Use it Up and Pass it On” -- all aimed at getting that stash of yours (especially those older fabrics you loved when you bought them) made up into great quilts that your family may enjoy. While charity is our number one mission here, remember that charity begins at home. When you have made all the quilts you can for your immediate family and friends, your extended family would love to receive an unexpected surprise from you. Be it a quilt or pair of pillow cases, wouldn’t your great nephew whom you haven’t spoken with in several years, be excited to open a package you sent with a little note ‘just thinking of you... a little something to remember me by.....Love, Aunt Sandy.’ So we have scheduled bunches of classes and a wonderful lecture that will help you dig into that stash and start getting things on their way to those who need a hug now and then. Remember what Mary Ellen says: If you don’t use those wonderful fabrics now, when you die your kids will turn your stash into Halloween costumes!

Secondly, we are so committed to this idea that we are offering you a Use It Up! pass when you stop in and purchase $20 or more in fabric (great for borders and backings on your stash quilts!) The pass provides you free admission to any of the Use It Up! classes. The classes are just $10 without a pass, but why not spend the $10 on fabric for borders and then get the class for free?! Free is a wonderful word in this temporary recession.

Third, yes, the rumor is true. Our landlord is selling our building so WE’RE MOVING! Even though we didn’t want to go for two more years, we are so excited about our new location, with easier access, nearly unlimited PAVED parking, with just about the same amount of space to meet your creative sewing needs! We’re moving to the South Main Centre, the plaza located at the corner of St Rt 619 and South Main. Our suite is just north of the Hallmark Store. We hope to move in by mid June when the space is completed, so stay tuned for all the details. We’ll email and send out a postcard so you won’t miss the news!

In the meantime, stop in often at our current location and pick up some tremendous bargains as we offer sales on lots of items. There are many things we don’t want to have to move. We’d rather not bump them around. The more you purchase, the less we have to move, so we are happy to offer the savings to you for helping us out!
And there will be things that can’t go with us -- certain furniture, fixtures, the stove, etc. So they will be for sale.
